Objective: This course aims to help students improve their overall proficiency in the English language, which will enable them to follow their departmental courses with ease as an Independent User in level B1 as stated in Common European Framework of Reference; and help students develop critical thinking skills and improve basic study skills, which are crucial throughout their academic and professional lives through written products and oral activities and use of IT.
Content: ENG102 consists of more academic skills such as reading comprehension, class discussions, use of academic vocabulary and critical analysis of texts. It also includes research assignments and review of the English language structure. Skills such as listening and note-taking, analysis of written products, writing, portfolio keeping, presentation and use of technology are developed in this course, as well.
